Rockin Dave 1 May 2016, R.I.P. 

Rockin Dave passed away on 1 May 2016 after a period of illness. He was an extraordinary character and musically very talented, with his own special sense of twisted humour, and will be sorely missed. He also completed his memoirs over the past few years, and the book, which presents somewhat controversial and challenging views to many, has been published - check out links to the book HERE.

Rockin Dave was cremated and his ashes rest in the Mt. Pinatubo volcano crater lake, Luzon Island, Philippines…

Elvis at 80! 

Well tomorrow would have been the king of Rock & Roll's 80th birthday. Coincidentally, I will be playing my show at Midnight Rock around 8pm (ish), and of course I will be playing lots of - Jerry Lee Lewis!

Elvis - 60 years of Rock & Roll 

On July 5, 1954, a 19-year-old Elvis Presley walked into Sun Studio in Memphis and recorded “That’s All Right” with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black.

“That’s All Right”, penned by Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup in 1946 was Elvis' first recording. DJ Dewey Phillips played the song on July 8 on WHBQ radio and the switchboard lit up heralding the career of the man known as the King of Rock 'n' Roll. As a consequence, the music world changed forever.

300 and counting.... 

Yesterday marked the 300th Rock & Roll show at Midnight Rock, and I was more than surprised at the amount of customers last night. A big thanks to everyone for your continued support.

 

Next month also marks my 5th year with Midnight Rock. (yes that's a surprise to me also) !

 

Well let's see how the next 5 years fare....
